Spotify Music Service Launches on Roku

“Spotify has been a huge success in the U.K. – and its reputation preceded it even before it debuted in the U.S.,” said Ed Lee, vice president of content and services, Roku. “It has been by far one of the most-requested services by Roku customers and today we are pleased to make the popular music service available to our customers in both countries.”

“Spotify wants to make all of the world’s music available for people to enjoy whenever and wherever they are,” said Pascal de Mul, global head of hardware partnerships, Spotify. “Spotify’s collaboration with Roku means that our customers now have another convenient way to enjoy the perfect music for every moment on their TVs, which are often connected to the best sound system in their homes.”

Joining more than 600 video, music and casual game channels already on Roku, the Spotify channel is available now in the U.S. on Roku 2 players and the Roku Streaming Stick with support for all Roku HD and Roku LT players coming soon; and available now in the U.K. on all Roku players.
