RKW Commissions Flexographic Printing Machine at German Facility

Germany based polyolefin films manufacturer RKW Group has commissioned a new 10-color flexographic printing machine at its facility in Echte for sustainable and environment-friendly production.

The new printing system allows the company to offer a wide range of design options and high-quality printing images, particularly for the self-venting plastic bag ProVent and other industrial bag solutions.

RKW Echte general manager Johannes Heintges said: “With the new flexographic printing system, we have extended our competencies at the site in Echte and offer customers a lot of flexibility in terms of layout design, along with a consistent print quality.”

The self-venting RKW ProVent plastic bag is a polymer-based alternative to paper packaging for powdery, moisture-sensitive goods.

Developed to meet the growing demand for complex and premium printing motives, the printing machine features various automation modules to ensure high efficiency and quality of the printing process.

Additional features include the color management system which can recognize deviations of color shades, checks the values automatically and provides a maximum of color match and consistency, RKW said.

Heintges added: “Including all additional features, we currently operate the most modern flexographic printing machine in Germany.”

Employing about 3,000 people, RKW is engaged in manufacturing hygiene and agricultural films, films for the beverage industry and packaging for powdery goods.

The company said in a statement: “With the investment, RKW follows the principle of sustainability, which is an integral part of its corporate policy.”
