Ford Reveals New 2017 Fusion Series Sedans

Ford has unveiled new versions of its mid-range Fusion sedan which includes Fusion V6 Sport, Fusion Platinum, Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi.

Ford's performance oriented Fusion V6 Sport is powered by a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 delivering an output of 325hp and 350 lb-ft. of torque.

The twin-turbocharged engine also comes with all-wheel-drive and pothole detection technology which detects potholes and adjusts the suspension to soak up the shocks experienced by the occupants.

Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi are powered by 2.0-liter engines along with 88kW permanent magnet AC synchronous Motor.

Fusion Hybrid has a 1.4 kWh Lithium-ion battery and Fusion Energi has a 7.6 kWh Lithium-ion battery which offers up to 19 miles of range using electric power.

However, when the battery power is fully depleted, it automatically switches to gasoline engine.

Fusion Platinum is a midsized sedan, equipped with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine and all-wheel-drive system.

Ford has added new technologies like pedestrian system, hands-free parallel and perpendicular parking capacity.

The gear-shift has also been changed from conventional system to a new shift dial system which results in maximum space.

Fusion series is also being equipped with SYNC 3, Ford's new communications and entertainment system.

It will allow the users to remotely start, lock, unlock and schedule future starts using a smartphone.

Ford Global Product Development executive vice president Raj Nair said: "Fusion offers people a lot more car - including helpful technology, beautiful design and a more rewarding driving experience than other midsize sedans."
