Thyssenkrupp Has Started Construction of a New Production Facility for Assembled Camshafts

Germany based automotive components manufacturer ThyssenKrupp has started construction of a new production facility for assembled camshafts at its Chemnitz plant.

Being built at Presta Camshafts' Chemnitz production plant, the construction work of the new facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013.

The manufacturer will install a new production shop equipped with machinery and equipment on an area adjacent to the current production buildings.

ThyssenKrupp Presta Chemnitz managing director Frank Riemer-Keller said the production plant expansion will allow the company to further increase its output.

"This will create new jobs and increase the capacity for value creation in Chemnitz and the region," Riemer-Keller added.

The company also plans to expand its supplies to the car and truck manufacturers as well as contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

ThyssenKrupp's components for the auto sector include crankshafts, camshafts, steering systems, dampers, springs, stabilizers and the assembly of axle modules.
