Opel's Entry Level Model Karl Unveiled at The 2015 Geneva Motor Show

Opel’s entry level model KARL has been unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

It is powered by 1.0 ECOTEC, three-cylinder gasoline engine capable of producing 75 hp. The three-cylinder gasoline engine only emits 99 g/km CO2.

It facilitates five-speed manual transmission, with chassis and steering especially developed to provide safety and comfort.

Opel is offering an ecoFlex package which includes an aerodynamically optimized front spoiler lip and roof spoiler which is designed to reduce the fuel consumption to 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers.

KARL is a lightweight five-door vehicle which has Track width of 1,410 mm (front) and 1.416 mm (rear) together with the 2.385 mm long wheelbase.

KARL is capable of offering 1,000 liters of cargo area up to the roof if the rear seat backs are folded down.

For passenger safety KARL features Hill Start Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Park Assist, and Cruise control with speed limiter.

Opel Group CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann said: "KARL is Opel's attractive entry-level model while it also completes the small car trio next to the ADAM family and new Corsa.

"It is the ideal car for price-conscious customers who want to combine everyday suitability with comfort, high economy and modern technologies."
