EV Charging Station Is Launched by Bosch

Bosch Automotive Service Solutions has unveiled new electric vehicle (EV) charging station, the Power Max in the US.

Costing less than $450, the charging station is claimed to provide 240V charging and also reduces the charging time to half.

Bosch Automotive Service Solutions President Tanvir Arfi said the company believes that it's critical to maintain the momentum towards Level 2 by offering lower cost charging systems to its customers as many of the incentives available to offset the costs of purchasing and installing residential Level 2 charging stations are expiring.

"We believe that for the foreseeable future most EV drivers will primarily charge at home," Arfi said.

According to the company, the Bosch Power Max is UL-certified in both the US and Canada and is designed to work with all EVs.

Features of the devices include no-touch operation, NEMA 3R enclosure for both indoor and outdoor applications, a cord breakaway system and non-live current wire.

The devices also come with visible LED indicator that displays charging state, hardwired on/off switch and 16Amp or 30Amp configurations with cord length up to 25ft.
