MRRM Is Acquired by Marbour

The merger of MRRM Inc. with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marbour S.A.S. was announced following a special resolution approval at a special MRRM shareholders meeting held in Montreal, Quebec on March 31.

Canada-based MRRM Inc. operates the wholly-owned subsidiaries Robert Reford Agency Inc., Les Aliments Dainty Foods and Dainty Foods International Inc. and is into the ship agency services business and the food industry. Les Aliments Dainty Foods has more than a century's history of milling and processing rice.

Based in Marseille, France, private company Marbour is the third-largest rice producer and distributor (dry rice as well as ready-to-eat rice) in Europe with 14 facilities in Europe, the Indian Ocean and the Caribbean.

Nearly three quarters of its business ventures is concentrated on the international rice business via its SIACOM business unit. Marbour is also involved in other sectors such as food and beverages (10%) and chemicals and services (17%).
