Ford Starts Production of Focus RS Hatchback From German Plant

Ford has started production of its Focus RS hatch back from its Saarlouis plant in Germany. The company said it will hit the dealership in the US this spring expanding its hatchback lineup in the country.

Ford Focus RS is powered by a powerful 2.3L Turbocharged EcoBoost engine which can produce 350 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque.

The car can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 4.7 seconds, making it one of the fastest accelerating Ford RS model.

The power output is distributed to all the wheels with an All-Wheel-Drive System. The All-Wheel Drive System has been designed to provide maximum traction with minimum understeer.

Ford has also equipped Focus RS with Advanced Performance Technologies. With this technology, one can configure Focus RS to various off-road, on-road and track modes like Normal, Sport, Track or Special Drift.

With these modes, one can adjust settings for shock tuning, stability control, engine and steering response, handling, grip and cornering speed.

Focus RS is set to join Ford's Performance US Lineup with other models like F-150 Raptor, Ford GT supercar (scheduled for production this year) and other models such as Shelby GT350 and GT350R, which were released in 2015.

According to Ford, Focus RS would one of the 12 performance vehicles that will be made available globally by 2020.
