Maplehurst Bakeries, a subsidiary of Weston Foods, has agreed to acquire decorated cakes manufacturer Creative Occasions.
Creative Occasions manufactures and distributes cakes for food service, catering, C-store, and in-store bakery markets in the US.
It provides sheet, square, bar, round dessert, natural, zero trans fat, base iced, seasonal, and various other cakes.
The financial terms of the transaction, which is expected to be completed by the end of this month, are not disclosed.
This acquisition backs Weston Foods' strategy to continue to grow and offer quality bakery products to the North American market.
Weston Foods Frozen and Biscuit Divisions president Kevin McDonough said: "This strategic acquisition adds talented people, high quality new products and capability to our growing cake portfolio.
"It will support the growing needs of our customers as we plan to offer an expanded and high quality portfolio of products to our customers throughout the United States and Canada."
