Holden Has Introduced The New Trax Small SUV

Holden, the Australian subsidiary of US automaker General Motors (GM), has introduced the new Trax small sport utility vehicle (SUV).

 Holden Unveils New Trax SUV

The new SUV is offered in two trim levels, the LS and LTZ, which are powered by 1.8L DOHC 16-valve 4 cylinder ECOTEC gasoline engine that generates an output power of 103kW at 6300 rpm and 175Nm of torque at 3800 rpm.

The LS version will be offered with standard 5-speed Gen 2 manual transmission, while the 6-speed Gen 2 automatic transmission with Active Select is optional for LS and standard for LTZ variant.

Holden is manufacturing the 5-speed manual transmission in Gunsan, while the 6-speed automatic transmission is manufactured in Boryeong, South Korea.

Features of the new front wheel drive SUV include rear view camera, rear parking sensors, six airbags, bluetooth phone, electronic stability control (ESC) four channel, four sensor anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), traction control system (TCS), hill start assist and hydraulic brake fade assist.

The new Trax range, which is being manufactured in Bupyeoung, South Korea will go on sale in September 2013.
