To develop OLED lighting, the Taiwan government-sponsored Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) will recruit OLED engineers in device design, production management, evaporation process, packaging, lighting module/system and production equipment.
ITRI said it teamed up with Taiwan-based material and equipment suppliers, light module makers, lamp makers and lighting designers to form the OLED Lighting Commercialization Alliance (OLCA) in July 2014 to boost development of the technology.
Global production value for OLED lighting will reach an estimated US$10 billion by 2020, ITRI said.
