During the May Day Holiday this year, the total number of tourists in Emei Mountain in Sichuan province reached 57300, an increase of 8% compared with last year. The total tickets sold reached 6.6 million yuan, an increase of 16.95%. No major complaints about service quality or security came up.
Emei Mountain is dedicated to developing as an international tourist destination. As early as May this year, the number of tourists had already reached 1 million, one month earlier than last year.
The number of Emei Mountain tourists in the first quarter had increased by 92.8%. According to the relevant officials from Emei Mountain Tourism Company, a large number of Russian tourists will fly in as soon as direct flights from Moscow to Sichuan open in July.
The annual meeting of Asia Pacific Tourism Association (APTA) was held for the first time in the Emei scenic area on April 23, which greatly helped to promote tourism in the area. More than 300 guests from over 30 countries gathered at Emei Mountain. At the meeting, Emei Mountain was named a "Mountain Tourism Model Base."
Emei Mountain will continue developing a healthy lifestyle, paintings, calligraphy and photos, and science as its major characteristics.
