The Silk Road International Cultural Forum 2015's press conference took place on August 12th, in Beijing. Vitaly Vorobiev, adviser of secretariat of Shanghai Cooperation Organization; Nina Narutdinova, representative of the Russian embassy in China, and others gave speeches at the Beijing conference.

An initiative to set up the Silk Road Eurasian Cooperation Organization was put forward along with a series of cultural exchange activities.

The Silk Road International Cultural Forum echoes the Belt and Road Initiative that President Xi Jinping came up with two years ago. The forum will be one of the largest and most important non-governmental international cultural forums. This year's forum will be held in Moscow from September 13th to 15th. A number of prominent intellectuals will attend. The forum will promote the development of trade, tourism and cultural exchange among countries along the Silk Road, especially between Russia and China.

Art exhibitions, concerts and lectures will all serve to increase communication and understanding between participating regions.
