BPF to Present Opening Address at Interplas 2014

The opening keynote will be delivered by Philip Law, the new director-general of the 81 year-old body, which has more than 400 members across the plastics industry supply chain, including polymer producers and suppliers, additive manufacturers, service providers, recyclers, end users, machinery manufacturers and plastics processors.

Law's work at the head of the organisation commenced this month, when he took over from Peter Davis OBE who stepped down after nearly two decades as BPF director-general.

The BPF stands for the interests of its members, many of whom are exhibiting at the show, by playing a role in influencing European Union policymaking, providing resources for legislative matters and producing papers and seminar sessions setting out key market data for members. Law said Interplas plays a central role in the plastics industry, which is why the BPF is throwing its weight behind the event.

"The British Plastics Federation has been a strong supporter of Interplas since its origins over 50 years ago," Law said. "We regard the fair as a key platform for projecting the UK plastics industry to its key customers not only in the UK but in the wider world. It provides a vital opportunity to network, to handle?equipment and products, to talk plastics and generate ideas.

"In our seminar session, the BPF will be exploring the key strengths of our world-beating UK plastics industry – specialist materials, ancillary equipment, packaging, technical componentry to name but?a few – and will address some of the top-line issues facing the UK industry today."
