China's Total External Trade Value Amounted to $1.33075 Trillion

In the January-April period of this year China's total external trade value amounted to $1.33075 trillion, increasing by 14 percent year on year, according to the figures released by China's General Administration of Customs.

In particular, China's total export value in the given period was $695.87 billion, increasing by 17.4 percent year on year, while the country's total import value was $634.88 billion, up 10.6 percent compared to the same period last year. Accordingly, China's trade surplus in the first four months of the current year totaled $60.99 billion.

In April alone, China's total external trade value was $355.96 billion, increasing by 15.7 percent year on year. In particular, China's total export value in April was $187.06 billion, increasing by 14.7 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the total import value was $168.9 billion, increasing by 16.8 percent year on year. Thus, China's external trade surplus in April was $18.16 billion, down 1.7 percent year on year.

In the January-April period of this year, the total bilateral trade value between China and EU amounted to $168.16 billion, decreasing by 1.3 percent year on year. The total bilateral trade value between China and US amounted to $159.74 billion, increasing by 9.4 percent year on year. The total bilateral trade value between China and ASEAN countries amounted to $138.97 billion, increasing by 18.1 percent year on year, while the overall value of trade between China and Japan amounted to $97.98 billion, decreasing by 8.5 percent year on year.

In the first four months of the current year, the total bilateral trade value between mainland China and Hong Kong amounted to $150.59 billion, increasing by 66 percent year on year.
