Lelon currently has a combined production capacity of 580 million units of aluminum and solid-state capacitors a month, with its shipments accounting for a 5% share globally, Wu revealed.
Shipment of high-margin capacitors for base stations accounted for 24-25% of Lelon's total sales in the second quarter of 2014, resulting in an improvement of its gross margin to 24.58% in the quarter compared to 21.97% in the previous quarter.
Lelon posted net profits of NT$137 million (US$4.56 million) on revenues of NT$1.61 billion in the second quarter of 2014. Second-quarter EPS stood at NT$0.89.
For the first half of 2014, revenues increased 6.4% on year to NT$2.97 billion, gross margin improved to 23.38% from 18.37% of a year earlier, while net profits soared 43% on year to NT$247 million, representing an EPS of NT$1.6.
