China's Total Foreign Trade Value up 4%

In August of the current year, China's total foreign trade value amounted to $367.094 billion, indicating a year-on-year increase of 4.0 percent, according to the Chinese customs authorities on September 8. In the given period, the total value of China's exports amounted to $208.465 billion, up 9.4 percent, while Chinese imports totaled $158.629 billion in value, down 2.4 percent, resulting in a trade surplus of $49.836 billion, all on year-on-year basis.

In the January-August period of the current year, China's foreign trade value amounted to $2.766395 trillion, up 2.3 percent, with a total export value of $1.483463 trillion, increasing by 3.8 percent, and a total import value of $1.282932 trillion, up 0.6 percent, all year on year. The trade surplus for the period in question was $200.531 billion.
