The Domestic Dairy Annual Imports Will Increase Forty Percent

A major bright spot of China-Australia free trade agreement is that the Australian trade ministry will bring Australian domestic dairy tariff-free opportunities to enter the Chinese market in next four years.If the China-Australia free trade agreement signed, it will influence the pattern of China's dairy market.Gathered the views of insiders, China-Australia FTA may give the Chinese dairy market changes in many aspects.

In 2012 ,the milk production in China was 37.4 million tons. But 14.3% of the milk consumption was imported and next year will increase to 34.5%. In the first half of this year our country imported 750000 tons of milk powder from New Zealand as much as the of imports last year.

It should be noticed that in the imports of raw material powder and infant formula powder, the share of New Zealand is reducing from month to month. In comparison, the European Union and the United States imports accounted for than upside, especially the European Union imports rising from the 4.87% in February to the top 7.4% in September.

Dairy expert Wang Dingmian said, the domestic dairy imports amounted to 1.4986 million tons before September, so according to the law of industry, it is expected that the domestic dairy imports annual growth remains close to forty percent this year.
