In 2013 China's Auto Sales Will Reach 20.65 Million Units, Increasing by Seven Percent

In 2012, Chinese production and sales of automotive vehicles amounted to 19.2718 million units and 19.3064 million units, up by 4.63 percent and 4.33 percent year on year respectively, as stated by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). The association went on to predict that in 2013 China’s auto sales will reach 20.65 million units, increasing by seven percent year on year.

In particular, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China in 2012 totaled 15.5237 million units and 15.4952 million units, increasing by 7.17 percent and 7.07 percent year on year respectively. As for commercial vehicles, output and sales in 2012 amounted to 3.7482 million units and 3.8112 million units, down by 4.71 percent and 5.49 percent respectively, both on year-on-year basis.
