The Australian dollar is lower after heavy falls on Wall Street on Friday night.
At 6.30am AEST, the Australian dollar was trading at US96.18c, down from US96.41c on Friday.
The currency weakened on Friday night as the US stock market fell, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq all down more than 1 per cent.
