CIF Bremen Cotton Index Continued to Move More or Less Sideways This Week

The CIF Bremen Cotton Index continued to move more or less sideways this week.

Spinning mills were carefully watching the market development, but the uncertain price outlook kept many of them away from buying.

This week, only a few contracts were closed in the most-sold and available qualities for nearby delivery.

A few textile mills were still closed due to their annual holidays, which too contributed to limited business.

In the reporting week, contracts in medium staple cotton were concluded for Central Asia for delivery in the current quarter and West Africa for the fourth quarter of 2014.

In the long and extra-long staple cotton variety, contract was signed for US Pima quality for prompt delivery.
