Compal Electronics Has Announced Consolidated Revenues of NT$68 Billion for May

Compal Electronics has announced consolidated revenues of NT$68 billion (US$2.26 billion) for May, up 18.95% on month and 28.26% on year, while Wistron achieved NT$43.83 billion in the month, up 2.33% on month, but down 25.28% on year.

Compal shipped 3.5 million notebooks in May, up 30% from April and is expected to continue achieving growth in June.

Compal's combined consolidated revenues for the first-five months of 2014 were NT$295.74 billion, up 6.62% on year.

With iPhone orders from Apple plus increased notebook orders, Compal is expected to see its revenues rise and reach a new monthly high in June, according to market watchers.

Wistron's combined revenues from January-May reached NT$212.48 billion, down 20.58% on year. Wistron shipped 1.6 million notebooks, 1.1 million smart handheld devices, 800,000 LCD monitors, 1.35 million desktops, 170,000 servers, 400,000 LCD TVs in May.

Wistron expects its notebook shipments to grow on month in June, while other product lines' shipments will stay flat. As for its second-quarter performance, the ODM expects shipment growths for all its product lines except smart handheld devices. Wistron expects to ship 20 million notebooks in 2014.
