CCFL TVs will slowly decrease in China's market due to the country's recent wave of government subsidies for energy efficient products including LED and plasma TVs in hope that citizens will consume less energy with electronic products.

Sources said that the subsidies coupled with promotion for LED TVs during the Summer Olympics will help boost sales of the TVs and further decrease the amount of CCFL TVs particularly in China's first and second tier cities.

However,CCFL TVs will still make up 30%of the global market and 32-inch models will be popular in third and fourth tier cities in China due to the price advantages they have over LED TVs,added sources.

Meanwhile,in April China reported that for plasma TVs,local maker Changhong held 42.3%of its market share with Panasonic coming in next at 30.4%followed by Samsung Electronics at 26.7%.
