France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) has announced that the situation in French industry continued to improve in August compared to July, according to a survey carried out among French business leaders, with the industrial business climate indicator increasing by three points in August compared to July but remaining slightly below the long-term average. The industrial economic climate index had risen two percent in July compared to the previous month.
After an increase in July, the outlook on general production, which represents business leaders opinion on French industry as a whole, indicated a significant rise in August, but was still lower than the long-term average. Global and export order books improved. Nevertheless, both are still considered lower than usual. Finally, stocks of finished products in French industy remained nearly stable in August compared to July and are considered to be in accordance with their normal levels.
