HTC Vive VR Hands-on Demos Start Today In UK

HTC has just announced its UK rollout plans for the HTC Vive VR system, revealing when and where you'll be able to go hand-on with the device.

The Taiwanese manufacturer has teamed up with Dixons Carphone plc, which means that the Vive will be appearing in Currys PC World stores around the country in March. Overclockers UK and Scan Computers International Ltd are also on the launch partner list.

More specifically, you'll be able to go hands-on with the HTC Vive from March 17 (that's today) at Currys PC World stores in Leeds (Birstall), Reading, and London (Tottenham Court Road). You'll also be able to trial HTC's VR headset at Overclockers UK in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Scan Computers in Bolton.

All of the above shops will contain a Vive VR demonstration station, which will be open to the public for individual demonstration sessions. You'll then be able to pre-order the Vive from each location.

The HTC Vive won't exactly be cheap at£689, but unlike the PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift, it will come with all of the gear needed for a completely immersive VR experience - except for the monster PC rig, that is.

For a limited time, the HTC Vive will also ship with three free VR experiences: Tilt Brush, Fantastic Contraption, and Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives.
