2012 Street Wear Trends Was Reviewed by 8&9 Clothing

In the Florida street wear world, it’s a must to innovate every day. Miami based 8&9 Clothing is known for pushing the envelope of creativity using core street wear staples like hats and tees as their canvas.

The 2012 Florida streetwear scene was heavily influenced by 8&9's designs which contributed to putting Florida on the national streetwear map. Looking back, it’s interesting to see what designs were the biggest hits and which were the fans favorites.

Fashion changes with the seasons, and winter ’12-13 is all about the cuffed pom beanie. The Brain Gang Beanies are perfect fit, top quality and come in assorted colors. As far as Florida street wear is concerned, this beanie is a staple for all winter nights. Without a doubt, one of the fan favorites for 8&9 2012 was this “Brain Gang Beanie.”

According to 8and9it was completely sold out in less than a week. In recent years, the term limited edition lost value in street wear. Founder of 8&9 Ray Guilbault says "A product is only truly limited if demand exceeds supply. A lot of brands forgot that rule when marketing supposedly limited products."

2012 streetwear and fashion trends were heavy on American inspiration. Most notably the American Flag appeared in pieces from fashion designers in practically every sector. Holding true to the trend one of 8&9's most popular pieces was the Blow American Dream T-shirt. The concept of this one is killer. It’s inspired by “Blow.”

In the movie the main character George meets Diego in prison. Diego tells George that “he failed because he had the wrong dream.” This epic line set a path for the rest of the movie and has always connected with fans and with people in general. The graphic includes the quote which is designed in the shirt and the stripes of the American Flag are constructed out of lines of cocaine.

A long running street wear trend has been catchy sayings and remixed logos. 8&9 Clothing answered the huge demand for their Crime Pays shirt with a new color way specifically to match the Jordan Raptor 7 shoes. This shirt has been a huge hit in Florida street wear. If you are too young to remember “Miami Vice”, chances are you have played Grand Theft Auto. That being the case you will understand how the “Crime Pays” slogan is synonymous with Miami and a staple for 8&9 Clothing.

All in all, 2012 was a progressive year for 8&9 Clothing the Florida street wear scene as a whole. No doubt, 2013 will bring more heat and new trends. We'll keep our eye on them with confidence 8&9 will answer their customers’ demands.
