Taiwan's Rebar Price in 2013 Dropped by About 9.5% Compared to a Year Earlier

Taiwan's rebar price in 2013 dropped by about 9.5% compared to a year earlier due to weak demand from the construction industry. The average price for CNS560-SD280 rebar price was about NT$17,391/ton (about US$584/ton) in whole 2013 which had drop NT$1,793/MT (US$60/MT) than NT$19,184 (US$644/ton) in 2012. The average price for CNS560-SD420 rebar price decreased to about NT$17,690/ton (about US$603/ton) from NT$1,915/ton (US$64/ton) in 2012. The price for rebar usage billet saw a drop of 10.5% in average and the scrap price decreased by 9% from a year earlier.
