China TV Makers Are Looking to Expand Their TV Market Abroad

China TV makers are looking to expand their TV market abroad with their high end LED-based LCD TVs that also feature functions such as 3D and Internet connectivity in order to further compete with major international TV brands such as Sony,Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics.

Market analysts said that there will be an estimated 210 million LCD TVs sold this year and that 35 million of those will be 3D ones. The global 3D TV penetration rate will be at approximately 16.7%and some major China vendors, such as Skyworth and Konka, see 3D TVs make up over 50%of their TV sales, added the analysts.

Industry sources added that China makers will be able to compete more globally due to Korean brands pushing OLED TVs,which are expected to only see 10 million units sold.OLED TVs are predicted to start gaining wider popularity in 2014,added sources.

However, sources added that with China makers promoting various models abroad, particularly in Europe and the US,there will be price wars not only with domestic brand makers, but also with other international brands.
