Foreign media reports said that Tencent Holdings Limited (SEHK: 0700) has invited star singers Rainie Yang and Show Lo for advertising, aiming to snatch more market share in Singapore.
Louis Song, Tencent International Business Group country manager for Malaysia and Singapore, pointed out that Singapore is a market with robust growth, like Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Thailand, where the company has witnessed steady growth of mobile application platform.
There are nearly 8 million mobile users in Singapore, with a 150% penetration rate in the whole population. That is to say, each Singaporean has more than one mobile phone. However, it seemed that WhatsApp is more welcomed in the nation.
