Brazil's Iron Ore Export Volume Amounted to 22.63 Million Mt,Decreased by 8.40%

Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 22.63 million mt in February this year, decreasing by 8.40 percent compared to January and up 9.46 percent compared to the same month of 2013, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in February totaled $2.19 billion, decreasing by 11.68 percent compared to the previous month and up 3.06 percent year on year.

In February, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 428,200 mt, decreasing by 5.91 percent compared to the previous month and down 14.17 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $216.9 million, decreasing 5.04 percent compared to January and down 12.26 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in February Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 102,700 metric tons, decreasing 49.41 percent from January and down 49.66 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $82.2 million, decreasing by 41.08 percent month on month and down 39.74 percent from the February 2013 level.
