Mercedes-Benz Has Reported a 7.3% Increase in Its May 2013 Sales to 121,360 Units

German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has reported a 7.3% increase in its May 2013 sales to 121,360 units, compared to the corresponding period of 2012.

The company had sold about 70,000 units of the vehicles called as 'dream cars', which include its coupe, convertible and roadster model series vehicles, representing a 50% of the market share during the period.

Mercedes-Benz's A-Class and B-Class vehicles jointly sold 31,770 units during May, a 65.6% rise that includes the CLA-model.

The sports utility vehicle (SUV) sales of the company went up by 14.5% to 25,710 vehicles in the month, while the segment recorded 18.6% growth in sales since January 2013.

Regionally, the manufacturer reported 4.9% increase to 57,759 vehicles in Europe, while it sold 24,713 vehicles in the US, a 9.8% increase and registered a 60.4% rise in the sales of Asia/Pacific region.

Mercedes-Benz Cars Sales and Marketing executive vice president Joachim Schmidt said, "We are posting solid increases in many markets in Europe and Asia, as well as in the USA, at a time, when the new E-Class and the CLA are just entering the big markets."
