China Smartphone Makers Increase Overseas Shipment

Huawei Device was the top China-based smartphone maker in the third quarter of 2014, with shipments of 14.8 million units, according to Digitimes Research.

All together, China-based makers shipped 111.1 million smartphones in the third quarter, an increase of 5.6% on quarter and 44.1% on year, the latest Digitimes Research China Smartphone Market and Industry Tracker Service noted. Of the shipments, 43.6 million units or 39.2% went to overseas markets, an increase of 7.5% on quarter and 53.0% on year.

Huawei was followed by Xiaomi Technology with 13.5 million shipments, Lenovo with 10.1 million units, TCL Communication Technology with 10.0 million units, Oppo with 9.8 million units, BBK with 8.0 million units, Coolpad with 6.4 million units, Gionee with 6.3 million and ZTE with 5.9 million units.

TCL had overseas shipments accounting for 93.1% of its total shipments in the third quarter, followed by ZTE with 51.7%, Huawei with 42.6%, Gionee with 40.3%, Lenovo with 24.8%, Oppo with 14.5% and Xiaomi with 5.4%.

All vendors will ship 419.9 million smartphones in 2014, an increase on year of 32.9%
