Custom Printed Products Installs Mark Andy Digital One Label Press

Custom Printed Products, a manufacturer of label and flexible packaging, has purchased a Mark Andy Digital One label press, to add digital capability to its business.

The entry-level Digital One label press is designed for short and micro run prime labels while offering an optimal balance of digital and flexo.

The press features 4 color dry toner printing process and a multi-function flexo deck for spot colors, laminates, adhesives or varnishes.

Mark Andy said that the Digital One press provides inline converting and finishing, delivering ready-to-ship label production for the operators.

Custom Printed Products currently operates a fleet of 10 Mark Andy presses including the newly installed Digital One press. It has operations in Bossier City, Louisiana and Edinburg, Virginia, US.

Mark Andy said in a statement: “CPP evaluated Digital One against another well-known toner-based digital device and decided to partner with Mark Andy because of the cost-competitiveness the press manufacturer brought to the table.”

CPP has been running 8,000 to 10,00 feet per day on the digital hybrid machine since its installation. The company prints a variety of labels and serves the wine and beer market.

Custom Printed Products president Richard Nicholson said: “All in all, the Digital One has been a great addition to our business. It has given us the ability to bring work back in-house that we were previously outsourcing.”

Featuring a web width of 330mm, the Digital One press features CMYK dry toner electrophotography, and in-line flexo decoration and converting for spot color, varnish, laminate, cold foil, die cut, strip, slit.

Employing more than 100 people, Custom Printed Products is engaged in providing IML & IMLi labels, pressure-sensitive labels (P/S), roll-fed labels, food grade inserts, flexible packing films (pouches), tags and digital services.
