Things to Look out for When Hiring a Janitorial Cleaning Company

Office and retail managers will be looking to hire a Janitorial cleaning company and they will ask of your current or future cleaning company in order to perform correct due diligence in hiring the right company for the job. It doesn't surprise me today that many managers, given the current economic climate, focus on costs associated with having a janitorial cleaning company clean there facility.

People will understand that a clean facility will reflect well and leaves a clean impression on there clients, but many don't understand that there are many fly by night and part-time people in this business who sometime lack the knowledge in not only cleaning, but also of running a safe efficient business. Here are some questions, and or things to look out for when hiring a janitorial cleaning company.

1.) Work on a cleaning contract for offices, or retail stores and management which will ask or notify me in order to clean there facility they need proof that we are insured. Trust is one thing that's important to us besides cleaning. Nine times out of ten we are cleaning a facility in which we have the key and alarm for.

Trust to clean your facility well, according to your needs and most importantly without any incidents. You have offer clients proof of insurance, but if your cleaning company isn't insured because you forgot to check upon hiring them and something gets damaged or goes missing, you could be liable!

2.) Pricing and work with our client needs. If you see a cleaning company who's pricing is too good to be true, run for the hills! Time and time again I will ask hiring managers looking for a janitorial cleaning company what is most important to them in the service be provided or offered.

Many will do the current or former company doesn't have the right tools or supplies or better yet sometimes didn't show up to clean your facility at all! As mentioned before many people think they can start a cleaning business with no equipment or knowledge of this business and they think in order to gain customers they will undercut there competition by a long shot.

This will look like a win win situation in the beginning. But amateurs usually show there true colors within the first three months. Why hire a company in the first place when all you will end up doing is wasting your time in having to look for another one in a few months. I understand company budgets and watching costs are important, but in the end if you pay with bananas you should expect monkeys working for you.

3.) Many cleaning companies will try to lock down a new commercial or office client from the onset into long term contracts and start off doing things well, but later on start slacking. For example: We usually offer a good discount on the first month of service with the agreement that they will try out our services for a minimum of three months. The reason is the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. We have to prove to you that we can be trusted and want to develop a proper working relationship over the long haul, not try and lock you down in a long term contract and give you headaches should you not be happy with our cleaning services.

Hiring the proper janitorial cleaning company should not be a daunting task, but in order to hire the right one make sure you ask the right questions upon hiring. You want to hire a company that offers good value for your money and most importantly hire a company that cleans well on a consistent basis.
