China Officially Provided Its New Nation-Wide Aim of Solar System Installation This Year

China officially provided its new nation-wide aim of solar system installation this year – 14GW on the 2014 National Energy Workshop held this month, which is higher than the target set earlier.

In the address given by Wu Xing-Xiong, the head of China’s National Energy Administration (NEA), on the 2014 National Energy Workshop, he pointed out ten aspects to focus on about energy issues. The third one was about dedication to green energy and he officially proved that China’s solar system installation aim for 2014 will be 14GW, higher than the original 10GW target.

Wu declared that green energy includes hydro power, wind power, solar power, biofuel and geothermal will all be worked on. In 2014, the aims of new installation are: hydro power plants, 2GW; wind power turbines, 18GW; solar system installation, 14GW (60% distributed solar system involved).

Generally, Wu especially emphasized on demonstration projects, high-efficient power plants, technologies R&D, reliable developing strategies, sufficient subsidies and complete management. With supports of local governments, Wu hopes to establish a firmer picture of the national green energy map.
