Darby Wire Mesh Offered Various Types of Woven and Welded Wire Mesh for Over 150 Years

Wire Mesh, or Wire Cloth as it is less commonly referred to, is such a versatile product that it is literally used in thousands of different applications.  For over 150 years, Darby Wire Mesh has supplied the industrial, automotive, agricultural and building sectors with various types of Woven and Welded Wire Mesh.  However, one of the most unique uses for Wire Mesh is in, unquestionably, the artistic arena.
A long-time customer of Edward J. Darby & Son, Inc. is sculptor Lanny Bergner, a Temple University’s Tyler School of Art MFA graduate, who is as nice and thoughtful as he is talented and well-respected in the art world.

Per Mr. Bergner’s website, Lanny summarizes his artistic philosophy and techniques:  “By using hands-on processes of coiling, fraying, twisting, wrapping, gluing and knotting, I transform industrial screening, wire, silicon and monofilament into organic construction.”

Lanny uses a wide array of Wire Mesh from Darby, including Stainless Steel Woven Wire Mesh, Brass Woven Wire Mesh and Bronze Woven Wire Mesh.  Because of his unique approach, Lanny typically utilizes finer mesh counts.  Please find below a handful of Darby Wire Mesh’s most favorite sculptures:
