5G Network in The Near Future

Fourth-generation networking has only begun its slow global arrival, but Chinese network equipment maker Huawei and his partner plan to test a 5G network in 2018.

Of course, nobody will actually will have 5G-capable phones then, but Huawei plans to supply some. The company makes smartphones as well as the cellular network base stations they connect to wirelessly.

5G is the next frontier of innovation for entire mobile industry. 5G will also run faster, a lot faster. Its growth will be built upon global LTE success. ICT ecosystem innovation will also be a major driver in creating a bigger 5G market. Though there are no official standards governing 5G connectivity yet, early reports have pointed to speeds as much as 1000 times faster than current 4G networks by 2020.

When Samsung announced in 2013 it was testing 5G at 1Gbps, journalists excitedly reported that a high-definition movie could be downloaded in less than half a minute. A speed of 800Gbps would equate to downloading 33 HD films - in a single second.
