The Company Is Set to Expand Its Portfolio of Products with The Addition of Ingeo Plastic

Cromex is all set to distribute NatureWorks’ Ingeo fibers to its customer base of thermoformers, film extruders and injection molders in Brazil.

The Brazilian color masterbatches and plastic additives distributor will supply the comprehensive suite of Ingeo resins developed for the plastics markets.

Cromex distribution director Celso Ferraz said the company is set to expand its portfolio of products with the addition of Ingeo plastic that is made from renewable materials.

"Our collaboration with NatureWorks now gives converters and brand owners in Brazil the opportunity to develop a full range of innovative products with a reduced carbon footprint," Ferraz said.

According to NatureWorks, the manufacture of Ingeo releases 60% less greenhouse gas and requires 48% less energy when compared to plastics such as PET.

Food service items such as flatware, cups and utensils, which are made of Ingeo, are biodegradable in industrial composting facilities. Rigid and film-based Ingeo packaging is claimed to deliver performance benefits.
