The Pakistan Textiles Summit, 2014 Will Be Held on 26th and 27th of November, 2014

The Pakistan Textiles Summit, 2014 will be held on 26th and 27th of November, 2014, at Lahore.

The summit is being organized by the ministry of textile industry, Pakistan, in collaboration with All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTPMA), Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA), and Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PRGMEA).

Over the 2 days, the summit will see key note speeches and presentations from senior level officials from the Government of Pakistan, all the relevant associations, decision makers from local and international textile companies, international buyers, and many local and international professionals from the textile industry.

The summit is aimed at exploring latest innovations in machinery and technology, providing a networking opportunity for local and international textile industry professionals. It would be most beneficial to exporters, importers, manufacturers, textile mills, research institutions, etc.

Bringing together senior representatives from the textile industry across the globe, some of the objectives of the summit include, promoting Pakistan’s textile industry, showcasing research and development in the textile industry of Pakistan, exploring the latest innovation in textile machinery and technology, providing a networking opportunity for local and international textile industry professionals, attracting foreign investment, increasing export, and addressing issues such as energy crisis.

The topics which will be discussed in the summit include the problems faced by Pakistan’s textile industry like lack of research and development, increasing cost of production, inflation, lack of new investment etc.

Key speakers at the summit include federal textile minister Abbas Khan Afridi, PRGMEA ex-central chairman Sajid Salim Minhas, PRGMEA coordinator Arshad, APTMA chairman SM Tanveer, Gohar Ejaz , FCCI president Rizwan Ashraf, ex-PTEA chairman Kurram Mukhtar, Sitara Fabrics CEO Mian Javed Iqbal, etc. (GK)
