Food packaging firm Tetra Pak has reinforced its Tetra Evero Aseptic carton bottle with high density polyethylene, making it suitable for dairy products that have oxygen sensitive enrichments.
The high density polyethylene acts as a barrier on the top of the package.
Claimed to be first-of-its-kind, the bottle is can be utilized for enriched drinks such as ambient white milk, dairy alternatives, flavored milk, and toddler and baby milk.
The company has introduced the improvement after gauging its viability through a pilot project with Italian dairy company Granarolo for its enriched lactose-free product range Accadi.
Granarolo marketing director Tiziano Manco said: "
We were looking for a family pack that is easy to handle and has a good environmental profile, so Tetra Evero Aseptic was the perfect choice."
Launched in 2011, Tetra Evero Aseptic has flat side panels for ensuring an easy grip. An injection-molded plastic top ensure hassle-free pouring, as against conventional cylindrical counterparts.
The 360-degree printable space provides various design options for creating shelf appeal.
Tetra Pak carton bottle vice-president Lars Bengtsson said: "Our product development activities are focused on helping customers respond to changing consumer demand and take advantage of new business opportunities.
"The new version of Tetra Evero Aseptic will help dairy producers expand their offering to more dairy drink categories, like vitamin enriched milk or soy milk, using the same packaging and processing machines."
