Inside FERC November US Natural Gas Average Falls 32 Cents to $2.06/MmBtu

The November bidweek national average price tumbled 32 cents to average $2.06/MMBtu as points outside of the Northeast moved lower, Inside FERC's Gas Market Report said Monday.

The November bidweek price at the benchmark Henry Hub dropped 53 cents to $2.03/MMBtu.

That came as the NYMEX November gas futures contract settled at $2.033/MMBtu, down from the October contract's close of $2.563/MMBtu.

In New England, the Algonquin Gas Transmission city-gates rose $1.39, or about 40%, to sit at $4.89/MMBtu, while Tennessee Gas Pipeline Zone 6 increased $1.31 to $4.67/MMBtu.

Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Zone 6 New York was steady at $2.23/MMBtu for November, while Texas Eastern Transmission zone M-3 rose 16 cents to $1.44/MMBtu.

Dominion, Appalachia, was 7 cents higher to $1.24/MMBtu, but Tennessee Zone 4-300 leg fell 6 cents to average 90 cents/MMBtu.

Upper Midwest prices declined in the November survey. The Chicago city-gates fell 36 cents to $2.34/MMBtu, while the Michigan Consolidated Gas city-gate tumbled 51 cents to $2.35/MMBtu.

In its first month in the survey, Rockies Express, Zone 3 delivered averaged $2.05/MMBtu.

In Texas, Houston Ship Channel fell 44 cents to $2.06/MMBtu.

To the west, the Southern California Gas index slid 42 cents, or 16%, to $2.20/MMBtu and the Pacific Gas and Electric city-gate was at $2.68/MMBtu following a 39-cent drop.

Northwest Pipeline Rocky Mountains fell 39 cents to average $2.04/MMBtu for November, while Northwest at the Canadian border declined 30 cents to $2.11/MMBtu.
