Italian Glass Manufacturer Neubor Glass Was Staked by Bormioli Rocco

Bormioli Rocco has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Italian glass manufacturer Neubor Glass for an undisclosed value.

The operation is expected to increase Bormioli Rocco's production volume with the construction of a new furnace at Neubor Glass to make molded flint type I glass. It will also expand the capacity to produce small bottles and vials in glasses of type I, II and III.

Creating a range of containers for supply into the injectable market, the acquisition is also set to expand the global glass manufacturer's pharmaceutical packaging products range.

With the Neubor Glass's tubular technology integration, Bormioli Rocco can produce disposable pharmaceutical vials and small bottles with capacity of less than 10ml. It also plans to produce its Delta vials in the plant.

The acquisition will also bolster Bormioli Rocco's position in pharmaceutical packaging.
