Italian Businesses Are Ready to Meet The Demands of Modernizing Russia's Textile Industry

Italy’s textile machinery sector displays its latest technology to Russian textile manufacturers at a technology seminar to be held in Ivanovo on 9 April. Raffaella Carabelli (President of ACIMIT): “Italian businesses are ready to meet the demands of modernizing Russia’s textile industry.”

ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, and ICE–Italian Trade Agency will be holding a technology seminar on 9 April in Ivanovo, a well known textile manufacturing cluster in Russia.

Accompanied by a series of visits to manufacturers and meetings with local authorities, this event is part of the Machines Italia in Russia plan, organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and coordinated by Federmacchine, the Italian Federation of associations of producers of capital goods, which ACIMIT belongs to. The goal of this plan is to re-launch exports of Italian machinery to the Russian market.

The aim of Italy’s technology seminar in Ivanovo is to provide Russian manufacturers with firsthand knowledge of the state-of-the-art in Italian textile machinery technology, at a time in which the local authorities have initiated pilot projects designed to modernize existing technology and enhance the offering of products on the local market from Russian manufacturers.

As Raffaella Carabelli, President of ACIMIT, explains “This restructuring phase provides us with an opportunity to further strengthen existing relations between Russian textile producers and Italian technology suppliers, which were already well under way through the promotional initiatives promoted by ACIMIT and ICE-Agency over the years.”

“The result of this interaction between Italy’s textile machinery manufacturers and Russian companies,” continues Carabelli, “is Russia’s constant presence among the primary export markets for Italian textile machinery producers.” In 2013, Italian sales on the Russian market amounted to 29 million euros.

A total of thirteen Italian companies will be participating at the technology seminar, of which the following are ACIMIT associated members: Aigle, Bellini, Bianco, Color Service, Ferraro, Itema, Marzoli, Savio, SSM Giudici.
