Game retailer Rules of Play is planning on holding the UK’s biggest celebration of International TableTop Day with a 12-hour event.

On April 30th, the retailer is hoping to attract inventors and indie games publishers at The Angel Hotel in Cardiff.

The event will boast learn-to-play sessions, games tournaments, indie publisher stalls, inventor signings, demo games, a Kids Zone and a VIP area.

Ian Davis, from Rules of Play, said: “International TableTop Day is a worldwide gaming phenomenon and we’re marking the event with one of the biggest gatherings of board gamers in the South-West, possibly even the whole of the UK.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for indie games publishers, and new and established inventors to get their games in front of the people that matter: the customers.

“Indeed, companies such as Big Potato, Grublin Games and Tinkerbot Games – who really understand the value of on-the-ground demos and direct interaction with gamers – have already confirmed their presence.

“We’re really excited about being able to celebrate the established board games everybody loves as well as showcasing the exciting new indie titles that are breaking through into the mainstream and acting as a ‘gateway’ for new gamers.

“We also hope to welcome along inventors to meet fans of their games, as well as new inventors who can playtest their latest creations with our crowd, gaining valuable feedback and insight."
