CO2 Emissions Output in China Will Decrease by Over 21 Percent by 2015 Compared to 2010

CO2 emissions per unit of value-added industrial output in China will decrease by over 21 percent by 2015 compared to 2010, while a decrease of 18 percent is targeted for the domestic steel industry, according to the Industry Plan on Climate Change (2012-2020) released on January 9 by China's Ministry of Industry and Information, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Finance.

In addition, the plan states that by 2020 CO2 emissions per unit of value-added industrial output in China should decrease by 50 percent compared with 2005.
