UPM Raflatac, part of UPM’s Engineered Materials Business Group has secured FSC and PEFC chain of custody certificates for its Australia and New Zealand labelstock operations.
According to UPM, the main global forest management certifications guarantee that the wood used in the company's label materials originates from sustainably managed forests.
UPM Raflatac Oceania general manager Jouni Komulainen said their customers can purchase paper labelstock knowing that their materials are sourced from sustainably managed forests.
The facilities will be audited annually to verify its continued compliance with the certification requirements, UPM said.
Documented procedures need to be implemented to ensure that certified materials are tracked through all stages of the company's operation from goods receiving, to lamination, converting and quality assurance, through to customer's premises, as part of the certification.
