in October This Year New Motor Vehicle Registrations in Turkey Increased by 18.6%

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 18.6 percent year on year to 88,493 units and decreased by 3.3 percent on month-on-month basis. In the January-October period of this year, new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey totaled 852,910 units, decreasing by 10.6 percent compared to the same period of 2013.

New passenger car registrations in October this year totaled 51,457 units, increasing by 11.4 percent as compared to September but down 14.8 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 58.1 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in October decreased by 6.8 percent month on month and were up 29.7 percent year on year, amounting to 12,231 units. Small truck registrations constituted 13.8 percent of total new registrations in October.
