Danish veterinary and food administration authorities have found traces of pork in meat sold as beef for kebabs during an inspection.

Danish veterinary and food administration spokesman Erik Jepsen was quoted by Reuters as saying that pork traces were found in beef sold by supplier Anadolu Kod.

"They told us meat was from some of their counterparts in Poland," Jepsen added.

This investigation was made due the horsemeat scandal and meat from close to 100 companies was analyzed.

Anadolu Kod is a producer of Doner kebab meat in Denmark and Poland.

Meanwhile, Danish newspaper Politiken reported that the Danish Halal Federation has urged for stricter control to ensure that the meat labeled as halal comes from animals slaughtered following religious rules and does not contain traces of pork.
