Incandescent Light Bulbs Have Been Flying off The Shelves at Local Hardware Stores

Incandescent light bulbs have been flying off the shelves at local hardware stores. People are apparently stocking up before a new law takes effect. At the beginning of the year manufactures will no longer be able to make the 100 watt incandescent bulbs. By 2014 they'll all be phased out. The alternative will be LED and compact fluorescent lights which cost more, but are supposed to last longer and save on energy bills. "The led's consume less energy of course. it takes more off the led to give off the same light in the lumens," said Bob Rudd of Ace Hardware in Mobile. In 2012 it's only 100 watt bulbs being phased. The next year it will be 75 watt bulbs, and 60 and 40 watt bulbs in 2014. Source: www2.wkrg.com
