Aurora has announced its decision to become a member of the Connected Lighting Alliance.

The company believes joining the organisation will provide an opportunity to work with market leaders, while also serving as a platform for its latest developments in smart lighting.

Aurora Technology director Simon Coobes said: "Joining the alliance gives us access to in-depth analysis of what's trending in the market.

"It's time to create awareness about the intelligent, effective solutions we're developing for the next generation in smart lighting."

The Connected Lighting Alliance was formed by GE Lighting, Lutron, Osram, Panasonic, Philips and Toshiba in August 2012. The non-profit organisation is an advocate of wireless connectvity in lighting applications.

Aurora's focus on the future of connected lighting and controllability was demonstrated at Light + Building 2014 with the launch of the AOne control module. The wireless module can be integrated with a range of third-party lighting control and smart home systems.

"People like to be in control, but they don't yet understand the power they're given with controllable lighting. We're confident this alliance will help us spread the news to a broader audience," added Coombes.
